The Heffinger Edit: Terms

Last updated November 4, 2026

1. What you're buying. A Heffinger Edit plan is a conceptual furnishing design for one room: a design direction, color and material recommendations, a suggested layout, and a list of suggested products with links. The Signature Edit adds a photorealistic rendering and a one-page styling guide. It is delivered digitally.

1a. Furnishing budget. The Edit is designed for these furnishing budgets, separate from our fee: intimate spaces (entry, office, child's room, guest room, powder room) start at $5,000; main living spaces (living, family, dining, primary bedroom) start at $12,500; expansive spaces (great rooms, open plans) start at $30,000. These are minimums, and you confirm your budget meets the minimum for your room before purchase of the plan.

2. A plan for you to carry out. The plan is a guide for you to adjust as needed and carry out yourself. Heffinger Interiors does not purchase, order, deliver, install, or manage any product or work, and does not visit your home.

3. Furnishing only, no construction. The plan does not include structural changes, electrical, plumbing, or any work that requires a licensed contractor or permit. Lighting suggestions assume your existing fixture locations. Any installation is your responsibility, using qualified professionals where required.

4. Measurements and fit. The plan relies on the information and photos you provide. You are responsible for confirming all measurements, including doorways, hallways, stairs, and room dimensions, before ordering. Heffinger Interiors is not responsible for products that do not fit or cannot be delivered.

5. Products, prices, and retailers. Suggested products are sold by independent retailers. Prices, availability, finishes, and lead times are set by each retailer and may change after your plan is delivered. All purchases, returns, warranties, and delivery issues are between you and the retailer.

6. Affiliate links. Some product links are affiliate links. Heffinger Interiors may earn a commission at no added cost to you.

7. Colors and finishes. Colors and materials can look different on screens and in your lighting. Order samples before committing to paint, fabric, or finishes.

8. Revisions. The Essential Edit includes the plan as delivered, with no revisions. The Signature Edit includes one round of revisions requested within 14 days of delivery, limited to swapping up to three pieces or changing the paint colors. A round of revisions with the same limits may be purchased for $250, requested within 14 days of delivery: one round for The Essential Edit, or a second round for The Signature Edit.

9. Payment and refunds. Payment is due in full before design work begins. Because each plan is custom, fees are non-refundable once your questionnaire is received.

10. Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Heffinger Interiors' total liability for any claim related to the plan is limited to the fee you paid for it. Heffinger Interiors is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for any product, purchase, delivery, or installation.

11. Credit toward Bespoke design. If you hire Heffinger Interiors for Bespoke design services within 90 days of delivery, your Edit fee is credited once toward the design fee. The credit counts toward our minimum design fee; it does not reduce the total below it. Bespoke design is a new, custom design process, and your Edit plan serves as its inspiration. We do not order, manage or install an Edit plan on its own.

12. Use of the plan. The plan is for your personal use in your home. Heffinger Interiors may share the plan and images of it in its portfolio, website and social media, without your name or address.
