There’s something so timeless and grounding about a space that feels elevated and easy, like slipping into your favorite linen set with a killer pair of heels. Our latest project, which we’re calling the Layered Luxe Retreat, embodies just that energy.

Our client came to us with a clear vision: elevated organic modern luxury. Earthy, refined, and effortlessly polished. In other words, she wanted a space that looked like it could be in a magazine but still made sense for real life. The kind of home where you can light a candle, pour a mezcal, and actually relax.

Design Plan: Refined, Relaxed, Ridiculously Good

Every design plan starts with inspiration, literally. We begin by gathering imagery that captures the mood and aesthetic we’re aiming for. Once we’ve nailed the vibe, we define the color palette that will anchor the space, then build out a material and texture story to bring it all to life. From smooth stone and warm woods to tactile textiles and layered finishes, every element is chosen with intention to create a space that feels cohesive, elevated, and layered.

Layout: Cozy but Classy

Once the overall vision is set, we move into layout planning because a beautiful space still has to work. In the living room, we opted for two matching sofas perpendicular to one another, which gives all the function and lounge-ability of a large sectional but with a cleaner, more tailored feel. It’s a layout that encourages conversation, keeps things visually balanced, and elevates the space without sacrificing comfort. Every piece is placed with purpose, creating flow and function that supports the way our clients actually live.

Furnishing Selection: Wrapped in Layers

Next, we select the furnishings that bring the design story to life. To create layers in all the right ways, we start with creamy neutrals, natural textures, and clean lines. Architectural materials like oak, stone, and hand-thrown ceramics appear throughout both the furnishings and accessories. Using these elements in multiple forms creates a sense of harmony and visual interest. Although the materials and furnishings are high-end, nothing feels overly precious. Everything is purposeful. The result is a quiet kind of confidence like “I woke up like this,” but for interiors.
